Project "the brilliant green on Kyoto": multi-translation ?
I wanted to suggest a thing: what about us making a translation of the famous bonus on "music video collection '98-'08" released past 20 February ... "the brilliant green on a Kyoto trip" ?!
Everyone who wants to help could contribute on this ! We could make it first in English and then why not in French and Spanish ! For my part I can help in these 3 languages (mainly in French) but of course we need first a great help for Japanese language by the 2 translators of this forum: mikanomoide and hidebow !
However if the 2 translators really can't help, we need at least to have a written text in Japanese (better if it's on romanji too) of what is said on this bonus !! I'm sure there are really great moments we miss ('cause of the Japanese language we can't understand ) with Ryo, Shunsaku, Tommy and most of all Ittchan !!
So what do you all think ? ^^

I can help with spanish, but I don't have the DVD with the kyoto live ToT
Re: Project "the brilliant green on Kyoto": multi-translation ?
Good idea, I hope it can be done. It would be nice also to do all the PV commentaries, but I fear this is asking a little too much...

yeah it will be nice for all the Spanish fans too, I could help you too ! ^^tomoko_chan wrote:I can help with spanish, but I don't have the DVD with the kyoto live ToT

@ Sneakglove: yes I hope too !
Please "mikanomoide" and "hidebow", answer on this topic !!

Re: Project "the brilliant green on Kyoto": multi-translation ?
Thanks hidebow, that is great. But my translation tool is bad, and it is bit non-sensical when translated into English. But still, it is a good start!

Re: Project "the brilliant green on Kyoto": multi-translation ?
Thanks hidebow I will check that later !
Just a question because I don't remember well: doesn't the video have more dialogs in these first 5-6 minutes than what you put hidebow ?
It seems so ... right now I particularly think on the railway station, but maybe I'm wrong !
Anyway I have to check again the video for the moment !!
EDIT: I checked together with my brother up to 5:40 min and he confirms that there are missing talks during these moments:
"(2:30)
Tommy あー美味しかった。
Shun 食べましたね。
Ryo 焼いた 焼いた。
すき焼いたね。 すきに焼いた。"
here for example Tommy speak while and after Ryo is talking.
and
"(3:37)
Ryo 雨やね(雨ですね)
Tommy 嫌ですね。
Shun Ittchan 何してんの?
Tommy Ittchan? どうしたの?
Ittchan 今ここで働いてるの。"
here before that Shun and Tommy speak to Ittchan, all three are talking a little bit more.
is it right hidebow ?

Indeed, and he also makes a very brief appearance under the slightly different name of "Ichi-chan" in the Super Terra 2000 DVD.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcpXjn64N8E at 0.42 seconds.
Would I be correct in saying that "Ichi-chan" translates to "1 friend" or maybe "Number 1 friend", and that maybe "ittchan" is short for "Itchi-chan"?

Hi, thanks all. Please tell me your opinion. thanks to mikanomoide そんな感じでまたお願いします。
In the beginning part. They came back to Kyoto. but they lost their way.
because of the repair of Kyoto Station.
(0:18)Shun and Ryo "kotsuchi?"(this way?)
(3:14) a staff ask to Ryo. "jimoto desyo?"(you are from here right?)
(Ryo) "zenzen wakarahen"(kansai accsent) zenzen wakarimasen (correct japanese)
( I don't get it at all)
This is the japanese text of the curry part.
I think this is hard to understand, but funny Let's try it.
(6:02)
Tommy action として最初に、あの、掛ける所から始まって、で、
spoon持ち替えて、あっ 一回ボケようか。
一回spoonをそれで食べかけて、”あっ”って言う。
heheみたいな。one actionあってspoon持ち替えて
一口食べて。 じゃあ行きますよ。
はいaction !! ”あ、違う” でcameraを見て一言。
Ittchan 美味いね
Tommy ちょっと声小さかったかな。もうちょっと大袈裟な感じで。
じゃ、もうone take行きます。 はいaction !! はいcameraを見て
Ittchan 美味いね
Tommy 良いですね。一回ねぇ、あの一回だけなんですけど
間違えた時に一回camera見て欲しいんですよね。
”あっ 間違えた”という ”あっ”という顔をcamera目線でやって下さい。
じゃあ、もう一回行きます。
”action"
Ittchan 間違えた。
Tommy 良くなってるね。良くなってる。良いですね。
Ryo OK出ました?
Tommy 2本目と3本目繋ぎます。

Re: Project "the brilliant green on Kyoto": multi-translation ?
Well I have a lot of things to say but I will only start with some:
Then you didn't translate at all what Ryo is saying !
Indeed he's saying "yaita yaita. sukiyaitane. sukiniyaita." and it's hard to translate, surely he's saying that the food he ate was too much cooked so he says "it was burnt it was burnt." ... but then I can't understand the second part with the "suki" thing !! Please help, thank you !
- Then Shun is saying "amedesune" which is an interrogative form, so a good translation will be "it's raining ?" or more simply "rain ?".
- Tommy here doesn't say such a strong word like "bummer", she's saying "iyadesune." which means "that's awful no ?" talking about the fact that maybe it will start to rain (and she hates the rain ^^) !
Am I right mikanomoide ? ^^
---
mikanomoide "sukiyaki" it's "すき焼き" and not すき焼 !mikanomoide wrote:(2:30)

It's a cheap joke, and then I have not good translation.
"sukiyaki" "look like burnt it"

Ok thanks a lot mikanomoide for your explanations and translations !
Thanks to hidebow too, most of all for your edits !!
However it seems that the road is long for a correct English translation of this Kyoto trip, there are lot of wordplays and mistranslations are so easy to do !!
ganbare !

Yesterday I wanted to start the translation of all of this with the help of my brother (he's a Japanese student, he only did 1 year of school for the moment ^^) but it seems that there are lot of omissions and even some faults !! We noticed that while watching the bonus !!
So I will put the changes and all that is missing, below, in red and on romanji !
Please "hidebow" can you confirm that my changes are correct ? Thanks !

In the situation that some the people can speak,
The omission of a small sound doesn't give whole the influence.
This place is not a class of Japanese.
I am not a Japanese teacher for French person also.
You seem to worry about a small details.
You should do after this. You can do it
