At the moment in the UK she is a bit of a laughing stock. Regarded as a bit of a slapper and a tart, and a very rude and not very nice person. Also we laugh at her cause she totally cannot sing live. Well anywho all I know is that she performed at the sanfransico Pride so I dig her, and also I don't think she's meant to be taken so seriously...she's kind of a parody-ish artist in my opinion.

Also I don't listen to her because "in the mainstream world I suppose it is supposed to be cool to listen to her music". I didn't like that statement. it was kind of rude. I knew who she was long before others did. You obviously have a strong dislike of pop music Sneak Glove.

Sorry, this wasn't meant to be rude or infact directed to anybody in particular, you just asked a question about her and I answered it. I had no idea you listened to her music when I wrote that.

Not really, I just like what I like. I hate this kind of easy to make R&B with almost pornographic videos and stage shows used to sell mediocre songs to an easy to please public. This is one of the reasons I like Tommy so much, she doesn't pole dance infront of drooling male models in her music videos in an attempt to sell more records. No offense meant to anybody, it is just my opinion.

I concede that she is probably very talented in her own field, and is very clever when it comes to making money.

I've never really seen or heard Lady Ga Ga before. Only people speaking about her. (Yes, I really don't know the current world around me too well, ha ha). So, I have nothing to say about her. But the majority of artists do not show flesh to sell their music (I only really see this in male artist's music videos with women in bikinis in the background - in RnB videos, for example).

I love Pop. Pop Jazz, Pop Rock, Pop Hip-Hop... give it all to me. But of course, any genre is fine. It's the songs that matter.

Also her music isn't R&B (just pointing that out), but with the videos...i never drool over them I just think they're funny, and that's what i think they're meant to be. I mean have you seen the "eh eh" video? it's so over-done it's hilarious, and through the interviews I've seen of her I know she does them on purpose. All i know is that Lady gaga is not tommy by any means, but she's better than a lot of the mainstream pop artists out there like Brittany, or the Pussy cat dolls, or whatever but, at least she writes and composes all her own music, and doesn't lip sync or anything (whether her lives are bad or not...which they are )

Hmmm, I know what you mean, but it does have elements of R&B in some of the songs. The kind of Poppy charty type of R&B. You cannot really describe it as straight out pop though I think. Not sure about the U.S, but in the UK it is just kind of generic chart music.

Yeah, agreed thats true. I cannot stand all those female bands/artists trying to be something they are not like The Saturdays for example

Same to me! I had heard about her a lot of times but didn't know who Lady Gaga was XD Then I searched a little bit about her and downloaded her last album, and I started to love her XD

As FBM said, it's just like a parody. Her album is titled "The fame" because of that, I think of her as a girl who tries to reflect the fame in her true essence, and with that I mean parties, chaos, alcohol, sex and a lot of things that don't make any sense. It happens to me the same that it happens when I listen to KK: I don't like her, she's too bitchy and superficial, but some of her songs are really good.

Well, I understand you XD Usually I don't like this kind of music coz I find it too superficial and common, but Lady Gaga has something different XD I've always said that I'm not a girl of a single kind of music, I just try and if I like it I keep it ^^ That's why I love Tommy so much: whathever she does, she sounds just PERFECT~

I'm still stuck on bad K-Pop groups. While we'll debating the merits of bad groups that might be lip syncing, here's a Korean group that actually got caught doing this. The video is hilarious.
