『智子さんへ』と書くのもなんだし…と悩み、なんとなく『トミーへ』と書いたことから。
当初本人は嫌がっていたが、松井と奥田がしつこく呼び続けた結果、『トミー』で定着。
なおTommyは本来英語で男性名（Thomasの愛称）だが、女性名（Thomasの女性形であるThomasinaの愛称）として使われることも稀にある[1]。
