Re: other J-artists?
Thanks mika.
Of the songs you suggested, I actually really like that Shiina Ringo song, and the PV rocks! She is a artist who I will have to look into more I think. I am not so keen on BENNIE K i'm afraid.
My other Japanese bands that I like are -
Noodles, GO!GO!7188, Mika Bomb (London based punk band, but Japanese), and PUFFY.
I also like some stuff by Nana Kitade, OLIVIA, and Mika Nakashima.
Check out these PV's they rock! As you may notice I do like a female vocal rock band.....
Noodles - She,her - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N209xV3ZyC0
GO!GO!7188 - aa Seishun

Mika Bomb - Osaka
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAG4gBAVYbs
I'd be interested to kown if mikanomoide or hidebow have heard of these bands.

Re: other J-artists?
Does anyone know "Kanon Wakeshima" and her song "still doll" ?
It's a new artist under DefSTAR Records label that I discovered 1 month ago and it's pretty good ! The genre of the sound could be described as neo-classic, she writes her own lyrics and plays cello !!
She only released 1 single in past May for the moment ! Notice also that her b-side "kuroi torikago" is good too !! I feel a great potential on her !
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWUxZ7LIUss
Just know that the person who did the clip is Ryuki Seiki ... the same guy that did for example "Rainy days never stays", "L.O.V.E.L.Y ~yumemiru LOVELY BOY~" or "Pray" !! ^^
So what do you think ?

Re: other J-artists?
@Kilix.
Yes it is good, very strange, but atmospheric. Although she has a nice voice, it nothing new, but she is certainly talented in other ways. Not really my thing, but I can see why you like it.
Video is good, and suits the song well by also being very atmpospheric, but not too over the top.

Re: other J-artists?
Anyone else heard of Rumi Shishido (宍戸留美)? Her CD, "Rumi Roll", featured cover art by Ai Yazawa and Volume 9 of Nana also helped to promote the CD.
I just disovered her, and she is great! The music is so uplifting, and she is such a sweetie!

Re: other J-artists?
Don't know why but she reminds me a bit of Nana Kitade XDDD
I feel like it's Nana Kitade who had turned some levels down her voice, and had left that kinda rock she's on XDD
Anyway, I love Rumi ^^ She's so cute~

Re: other J-artists?
Funny you should say that TC, but I am kinda discovering Nana Kitade more at the same time. I am downloading her discography as we speak!
I really want to find the Rumi Roll album though, I cannot find it anywhere, so if any of you guys could help that would be great!

Re: other J-artists?
I adore Nana. My favorite song by her is SUICIDES LOVE STORY best ballad EVER, IMO. I honestly love all her stuff, but i do definately think you'll like her Sneak glove. Her earlier stuff is kinda buri guri...ish...a little more rock though. Her 2nd album is really Tommy Heavenly6, I adore the song Dark snow angel. All her new stuff is just cool PUNK&BABYs isn't her best but is really interesting. Siren...well i like the sing, but she sounds like an effing baby in it. utareru ame is also a favorite of mine. oh! and Lamai of the PUNK&BABYs single.
she's also got a new single coming out "tsukihana" moon flower. I'm very excited.

and rumi is very cute and funny! I love the part with the toilet cleaner in the first video it was hilarious!
Re: other J-artists?
I'm a little addicted to Nana Mizuki right now. (j-pop)
But some of my favorites are The Pillows, Ayabie, Phantasmagoria, Girugamesh and some folk metal bands like korpiklaani and Mago de Oz. (these are not japanese xP)

Of course Mago de Oz is not japanese XDD Here in my town, we play "Fiesta pagana" many times in our celebrations and parties XDD
I don't know much of this band, but I must say this song is memorable ^^

Re: other J-artists?
I used to listen to a lot of Jpop and Jrock, but mostly because I thought it was novel and different. I've pretty much settled into only *really* liking The Brilliang Green, The Pillows (I saw 'em last spring, it was amazing) and Utada Hikaru.
I kinda' like Chihiro Onitsuka, Do As Infinity, and Yui, but since DOA is broken up and I probably wouldn't listen through an entire album of the other two...it's kinda' like...eh.

Re: other J-artists?
this band i just found out totally reminds me of Early Buri Guri.
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x698ly_plingmin-this-world-is-yours_music
They're like "Plingmin" or something, but all in Katakana. I heard of them throught show that was having an interview with Kana Nishino, and them (Kana Nishino is uber cute, and love!) although these guys are really cool.
I can't find a ton of info on them, don't know if they have a myspace.

Re: other J-artists?
I just finished downloading every Love Psychedelico album this morning, and today at work I have started to listen to them, and I like what I hear. I already knew a few songs thanks to member hidebow, but you always worry that when you listen to more songs you will be dissapointed, well not so far! They may even push Noodles close for being my 2nd favourite Japanese band.
Love Psychedelico - Last Smile
Love Psychedlico - Your Song (Live)
I have also recently downloaded the entire Shiina Ringo and Tokyo Jihen discography. Although she/they are obviously really talented, some of the stuff is a little experiemtal and eclectic for my liking, although the rock stuff she does is amazing. Worth a listen for sure.

Haha, I never heard of "This is LOVE PSYCHEDELICO", but I will send you 4 Japanese studio albums that I have,
The Greatest Hits (which is not actually the greatest hits, just a confusing name for the 1st album!)
Orchestra
LOVE PSYCHEDELICO III
GOLDEN GRAPEFRUIT
and I will also send you the Natccu album. Expect a Pando package shortly.
Re: other J-artists?
I am struggling to get the names of Natccu songs translated into romaji, and it won't let me send it until i do so. So that will have to wait a wee while i'm afraid. I sent the other stuff though.
