Re: The Brilliant Green's new album - BLACKOUT - 15/09/10!!
I dunno I'm pretty happy with any new Tommy activity, be it Heavenly, February, or Brilliant Green. Although I prefer Heavenly.
I mean I agree that we might be getting ahead of ourselves saying this will be their best album, but I don't think it sharing a name with a Britney Spears album means it's not gonna be the best.
Also am I the only one who feels like B Spears' title was more like getting drunk blackout, while I feel like The Brilliant Green's Blackout is more like an emotional blackout.
Maybe there's a song about Ryo on there...that would be sad.

Re: The Brilliant Green's new album - BLACKOUT - 15/09/10!!
I completely forgot about that Britney album hahaha...
I guess both can mean "no light", but in the case of Britney, the blackout could mean like a nightclub, lights off to dance and have fun (or more)
And yea, BuriGuri's Blackout seems like an emotional blackout, when you feel blocked...

Re: The Brilliant Green's new album - BLACKOUT - 15/09/10!!
I'm just genuinely excited, and I may have gotten ahead of myself by saying it will be their best album. How about album of the year?
Re: The Brilliant Green's new album - BLACKOUT - 15/09/10!!
Yeah, I can kinda see both points of view here.
The new album will have to go a long way to be better than Terra & LA, and without Ryo, there will certainly be something missing. But I can understand the excitement and anticipation, as this is the first album released by the band while we are all fans, so it is more personal to us.
Personally I am not expecting it to be the best album, but I do expect it to be damn good

Well, lets say better than 99% of the garbage called music these days..........
And it has to be pretty damn magical to surpass the perfection that is Terra 2001.

Personnally I don't expect much from this album... The last singles were not that great.
I don't feel the same old TBG spirit anymore... Maybe I'm still moved by Ryo's leaving...

Re: The Brilliant Green's new album - BLACKOUT - 15/09/10!!
You can already preorder it through CDJapan ^^
CD VERSION
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=WPCL-10861
Price: 3150 Yen (27,38€ aprox)
CD + DVD VERSION (Limited Edition)
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=WPZL-30217
Price: 3500 Yen (31,95€ aprox)
Is it only me or anyone else thinks that both versions of the album are quite expensive? O.o Or maybe it's the exchange rate between euro-yen that has changed?

Re: The Brilliant Green's new album - BLACKOUT - 15/09/10!!
No, its not you. $40 USD for the CD+DVD. Maybe I just haven't purchased a Japanese full length in a while, but that seems expensive to me.
Re: The Brilliant Green's new album - BLACKOUT - 15/09/10!!
I never understood why Japanese CDs cost so much. It seems like they are just encouraging people to illegally download it.
Also with Tommy now on Japanese iTunes, you got of wonder how many albums they will actually sell.

Not to mention there is going to be jacked shipping cost because it's coming from Japan.

Re: The Brilliant Green's new album - BLACKOUT - 15/09/10!!
I've been on vacation this month and this is what happens! A new album coming out next MONTH!!
I have to agree with Sneakglove: it's going to be weird without Ryo there but I'm still expecting a damn good album. I'm also a little weirded out by a cover song on the album but ... oh well. I'm glad they're including "BLUE SUNRISE" though - yay!

I chose the traditional EMS on CD Japan, just to save some money.

Re: The Brilliant Green's new album - BLACKOUT - 15/09/10!!
Just ordered my copy of the CD+DVD. This was the most expensive regular CD I've ever purchased. I blame the US dollar. $1 = 87 yen? That's ridiculous.
Re: The Brilliant Green's new album - BLACKOUT - 15/09/10!!
Yeah I'm gonna have to save up for a bit, I only have 10 dollars right now...I'mma need like 30 more to buy the regular edition, BUT I WILL DO IT!
Re: The Brilliant Green's new album - BLACKOUT - 15/09/10!!
I just can't get myself to buy full-priced Japanese albums anymore (I'll always regret spending $40 on Tommy heavenly6's CD+DVD debut album). I'm hoping an Overseas/HK, Taiwan or Korean version pops up on Yesasia or something, even though Warner doesn't do it for all of their artists.
But I'm definitely downloading and trying this one out before buying it.

I wish I could buy it, but I'm about to be a poor struggling college student. Oh well. I'll just enjoy you all telling me about the album.
Re: The Brilliant Green's new album - BLACKOUT - 15/09/10!!
Limited Edition
Regular Edition
I know the CD only one is the same as that "I Just Can't Breathe" promo picture, but the promo version was already up as a temporary cover, so I'm pretty sure the regular cover is the real cover. The limited one could actually be the back of the album, or it's just temporary.

Re: The Brilliant Green's new album - BLACKOUT - 15/09/10!!
Well....those covers aren't what I was expecting.....hopefully though, 'a book should not be judged by its cover' would be the case here.
Re: The Brilliant Green's new album - BLACKOUT - 15/09/10!!
The covers seems to be the final ones. They already appear at CD Japan. I like the cover of the CD Only version. I hope that the cover of the CD+DVD Version is just like a package for the album and a better image is underneath it.
Maybe the cover is related with the concept Blackout. If not, it is an absolute lack of imagination. It is like the covers for Tommy H/F best albums, but extremely simple.
Do you think that Dark Black Night is kind of an intro song? like the Winter Album Intro?

Re: The Brilliant Green's new album - BLACKOUT - 15/09/10!!
I actually really love these covers, they're so...understated. I'm excited to get my regular edition...it's just her face.
And the limited one is like "We don't need flashy, this is our album dammit". I mean I love me some flashy, don't get me wrong, but Flashy doesn't suite The Brilliant Green. It just seems like they're trying to show that they're not just another pop rock band. I can't wait to buy it now.
